A leading Build to Rent operator is seeking a highly skilled Regional Building Compliance Manager to oversee health, safety, and facilities management compliance across its operational portfolio in the Northwest, Midlands, and nationally.
Regional Building Compliance Manager – Northwest & Midlands
Location: Manchester or within the region the role covers (with national travel)
Sector: Build to Rent (BTR)
This role will be instrumental in ensuring compliance with statutory requirements, maintaining the highest standards of building safety, and providing strategic oversight of third-party facilities management providers. The successful candidate will play a central role in embedding a culture of safety and compliance while supporting operational delivery across multiple residential communities.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure full compliance with Health & Safety legislation, including the Building Safety Act, Fire Safety, and associated statutory requirements.
- Conduct regular site inspections, audits, and compliance reviews, providing detailed reports and ensuring timely resolution of identified actions.
- Manage the Building Safety Case applications process and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure legislative obligations are met.
- Oversee the performance of third-party FM providers, ensuring delivery against contractual KPIs and SLAs.
- Provide technical oversight of MEP systems, ensuring statutory compliance and operational efficiency.
- Monitor and report on H&S KPIs, contractor performance, and budgetary control measures.
- Support operational colleagues through training, mentoring, and guidance, driving continuous improvement and knowledge sharing across the portfolio.
- Represent the business in interactions with local authorities, HSE, and other regulatory bodies.
Candidate Profile
- Extensive management experience within residential property, estates, facilities management, or construction environments.
- Strong knowledge of building compliance frameworks, including the Building Safety Act, LOLER, PUWER, Legionella, and Asbestos.
- Demonstrable experience in contractor management, compliance monitoring, and risk mitigation.
- Recognised professional qualifications: IOSH, NEBOSH, IWFM
- Proven ability to lead and influence stakeholders at all levels, with a collaborative and professional approach.
- Exceptional organisational skills with the ability to balance national travel and multi-site responsibilities.
- A full UK driving licence is required.
