      About: RLR is currently supporting Curlew Capital as it looks to add an asset manager to its growing team. Curlew has eight full-time staff and currently manages £590M in PBSA assets, a large part of which is on behalf of a large institutional pension scheme partner. We expect this number to double next year and are looking for an Asset Manager to grow with us. The portfolio currently has 15 assets, totalling just over 4,000 beds. It spans the whole UK, with presence in Sheffield, Exeter, Durham, London, Liverpool, Bath, Newcastle, Coventry, Norwich, Leeds, Glasgow, Edinburgh, Brighton, and Falmouth. As such, the successful applicant will have the opportunity to help drive improvements across a diverse portfolio.

      The Role: A sample of the key responsibilities can be found below:

      • Assisting in the annual rent setting and dynamic pricing strategy for properties and monthly implementation tactics.

      • Preparing weekly occupancy reports along with analysis of letting performance by individual room types against run rates and previous performance.

      • Ongoing competitor analysis of markets to help inform ongoing decisions regarding dynamic pricing and incentives.

      • Contribute to the annual budgeting setting process, looking at potential cost efficiencies to reduce Operational Expenditure and maximise Net Operating Income.

      • Assisting with the review of month-end accounts and quarterly forecasts, highlighting where necessary, any out-of-budget variances for review.

      • Support in the preparation of presentations for various internal committees.

      • Attend monthly meetings with 3rd party operators to track performance against KPIS.

      • Contributing to the acquisitions team by providing market and competitor insights during the underwriting process for new purchases.

      • Working closely with the Fund, Development, Project Management, and Acquisition teams to drive business plan execution.

      We are open to exploring candidates from strategic operational roles in PBSA who want to work with a leading investment manager and apply their expertise in a new way. We will also consider candidates who have some previous exposure to asset management from within residential operational real estate.
